This project is anticipated to be submitted for review within the next couple months. The project will eventually be heard by the Planning Commission for recommendation of approval or denial and Board of County Commissioners (Land Use) for their approval or denial.

The purpose of the public open house meeting is to educate the community on the upcoming solar energy generation project located in southern El Paso County. The proposed 143 Megawatt Solar Array field is located East of I25 south of the existing Pike and Palmer Solar array fields. A new transmission corridor is anticipated to cross over I-25 to the west connecting to an existing substation. Project construction is planned to begin 2024 if approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
