The Board of County Commissioners will hear the Amara Addition No. 1-23 Annexation item on May 9, 2024 as an acknowledgment of the annexation impact report. Pursuant to State Statute, the Board of County Commissioners does not approve or deny an annexation impact report, nor does the Board of County Commissioners support or oppose annexation requests.
The Report provided by the City of Colorado Springs notifies the County of the annexation request and describes potential impacts in very general terms. The annexation request was recommended for approval by the City of Colorado Springs Planning Commission on April 16, 2024, with a vote of 7 to 2 and is scheduled to be heard before the City of Colorado Springs City Council on May 28, 2024.
